Non-Circulating is a collection of unused checkout cards from library books formerly in the reference and special collections at the Maryland Institute College of Art’s Decker Library. This project examine what makes information important enough to be cataloged as “non-circulating,” how this importance has changed with the advent of the internet,  and what an item’s catalog information means without the physical item being manifest.
